Tell us what you can do. Apply with or without a CV.

From preparation to a finished surface
What will you do as a plasterer?
You work on interior walls and ceilings, for example in homes or other buildings. The focus is gypsum plaster and smooth finishes. These stages show what the trade involves; we agree the actual tasks for your assignment.
Assess and prepare the background
Check walls and ceilings for soundness, cleanliness, suction and adhesion. Raise loose areas, damage or moisture problems before starting. Match preparation and primer to the background and plaster system, following the material instructions.
Protect surfaces and set out details
Protect floors, window frames and completed finishes. Install corner beads and stop beads where needed and prepare window and door reveals. Pay attention to straight lines and junctions. Treat transitions between different materials as specified by the system.
Apply gypsum plaster by hand or machine
Prepare the material and apply the plaster with tools you know how to use. For machine application, operate and clean the plastering machine according to instructions. The application method, material and coat thickness depend on the particular assignment.
Rule off and straighten
Distribute the material, rule off the surface and correct uneven areas. Check flatness with a straightedge and keep corners and junctions true. Plan the sequence so that each finishing stage takes place within the material’s working time.
Float and trowel to a smooth finish
Carry out the finishing stages appropriate to the material, such as cutting back, sponge floating and final trowelling. Finish walls, ceilings and reveals carefully and check the surface against the agreed quality. Small details deserve the same care as a large, even wall.
Repair, inspect and hand over
On renovation work, repair damaged areas and make careful junctions between new and existing plaster. Discuss drying conditions and the next finishing stage with the site supervisor or a colleague. Check the work, clean your tools and leave the area tidy.
THE TRADE IN DUTCH PRACTICE
A smooth wall starts before the plaster goes on
New construction and renovation both demand careful preparation. We discuss these three points when reviewing your experience and the assignment.
Background and plaster system
Concrete, masonry, existing plaster and plaster carriers need appropriate treatment. Recognise the differences and prepare the background within the specified system.
An agreed finish
You may hear the Dutch term “sausklaar”, referring to a finish intended for painting. Agree the specific quality level; the word alone does not fully define the expected result.
A considered handover
Fresh plaster is not immediately ready for paint. Drying depends on factors including material, thickness and conditions. Coordinate the readiness assessment and next steps with the site team.
Your practical skills matter
What experience do you bring?
Good plastering takes more than speed. We want to hear how you assess backgrounds, organise the job and finish corners, reveals and large areas. Tell us whether your experience covers renovation, new construction or both.
We focus on practical skills. Required experience, languages, certificates and available tools are discussed for the specific assignment.
Apply for this workInterior plastering experience
You have plastered walls or ceilings and can explain your process from preparation to a smooth surface. Tell us which backgrounds and materials you know. Experience gained in the Netherlands or other countries is relevant.
An eye for flatness and detail
You inspect your work, form clean corners and finish carefully around frames and other junctions. Explain whether you finish a whole room independently or mainly carry out particular stages.
Good organisation and careful teamwork
You consider working times, colleagues and the sequence of the job. Follow instructions on dust control, work at height and protective equipment. Raise any background problem or site condition that needs attention before plastering starts.

Questions about plastering work
About the work, your experience and the arrangements before you start.
Call usWhat kind of plastering does this opportunity involve?
The focus is interior plastering: preparing, straightening and smoothly finishing walls and ceilings in new construction or renovation. Corners, reveals and repairs may also be included. We discuss the backgrounds, materials and specific tasks before you accept an assignment.
What does sausklaar mean in the Netherlands?
The term is used for plaster intended to receive a subsequent wall-paint finish. It does not, by itself, define an unambiguous quality standard. Agree the finish level, assessment and any further preparation before work begins. Painting requires a suitable and sufficiently dry background.
Do I need both hand and machine plastering experience?
That is not a general requirement for every assignment. Tell us whether you mainly work by hand, use a plastering machine or know both methods. Operating and cleaning the machine require their own skills. The tasks are matched to work you can carry out independently and safely.
Can I apply with plastering experience from outside the Netherlands?
Your experience may be a good fit. We discuss materials, work sequence and finish quality in relation to the Dutch assignment. Afreien means ruling off; messen refers to working the surface with a plastering knife or similar finishing tool. If the local terms are unfamiliar, describe the work you do.
Does the role include plasterboard installation, spack spraying or external rendering?
This opportunity focuses on plastering interior walls and ceilings. Installing plasterboard, spraying the textured finish known as spack, decorative plastering and external rendering are separate or additional skills. Mention any experience you have; these tasks are included only when agreed beforehand.
How much does a plasterer earn in the Netherlands?
Pay depends on the specific role, your experience and the assignment terms. We do not publish an unconfirmed salary figure here. Discuss pay, hours, any allowances and possible accommodation or transport costs before you decide.
Which languages, certificates or driving licences do I need?
Requirements depend on the assignment. You must understand instructions and communicate safely. Tell us about certificates such as VCA and any driving licences you hold. We confirm requirements, travel arrangements, tools and protective equipment before you start.
Can I apply from outside the Netherlands?
Yes. Tell us where you currently live and when you are available. You can also contact us in Polish or Portuguese through the relevant language page. Communication requirements at the workplace are discussed separately.
Is accommodation or transport to work available?
We discuss the support available for your assignment and circumstances. Availability, arrangements and any costs must be agreed beforehand. Travel to the Netherlands only once your work and practical arrangements are clear.
Can I apply without a CV?
Yes. Your name, phone number and answers about your experience are enough for an initial conversation. Email and a CV are optional. You can also call first to discuss whether your skills fit the work.
You know your trade. Let us get to know you.
