Agriculture and green work involve crops, plants and outdoor spaces. Opportunities may relate to greenhouse growing, arable farming, fruit, mushrooms, nurseries, flower bulbs or building and maintaining gardens. Some occupations are mainly manual; others focus on agricultural machines and equipment.
Tasks often follow crop development or the maintenance season. Growing, selecting, harvesting and preparing produce require different approaches. Conditions in a greenhouse differ from those in a field or garden. Landscaping also includes construction and maintenance tasks. Each occupation guide explains the working environment and the crops, plants or equipment involved.
Tell us which crops, plants and machines you have worked with and which tasks you know. Mention quality selection, harvesting, pruning or landscaping experience. Explain your preferences about outdoor work, warm or damp environments and seasonal planning. The assignment length, schedule and necessary instructions are discussed for the particular role.
